Collingswood Farmers' Market

Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn’t you like to get away
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name...

Collingswood Farmers' Market

June 16, 2012: Father's Day Weekend

Weather forecast for Market hours: Mostly clear, in the 70s.

What's in season?

CORN! Didn't see that coming, did you? Dawn Buzby and Les Viereck say so.

It's made the news: expect summer a bit early this year. Viereck Farms also reports "Cucumbers, Zucchini Squash, Patty Pan Squash, Snow Peas, Sugar Snap Peas, and Kirbys."

A great gift idea for Father's day from Clam Daddy's fresh clams: Pick up a a bag of tender, sweet littleneck clams to steam up for your Dad this weekend for Father's Day. A great addition to any BBQ and easily steamed right on the grill!

Dan Lynn Organic Farms reports: Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Black Raspberries, Cucumbers, Romaine, Red Romaine, Magenta, Curly Green, Bibb, Endive, Mesclun Mix, Mixed Lettuce Bags, Onions, Radishes, Scallions, Yellow Squash, Zucchini. Free range brown and green eggs, too!

Brookeberry Farms' NJOA certified organic raspberries are here! Berries (and ricotta) are featured in the recipe below.

Hillacres Pride's sample tray will showcase "3 flavors of fresh cheese: Honey, Pesto & Feta; Cheddar & Smoked Habanero, Susquehanna & Westbrook, and Ricotta.

Duker T says soup this week is Cream of Mushroom Soup with Davidson's Exotic Mushrooms as the not-so-secret ingredient. Cajun Potato Sald and stuffed jalapeno trays are coming too, perfect for Dad's appetite.

Moving around

DiBartolo Bakery will be repositioned on Irvin Avenue from now on to assist with Collingswood businesses promoting themselves at the Market in the info tent area. Mike DiBartolo is the local business ambassador-at-Market. Look around for new faces each week.

The Camden County Animal Shelter is going to be located on the "west end" of the Market this week (Perkins is the east end) and wants you to know they have a critical need for linens donations, and dog/cat wet food. "Our washer broke down, and we’re in a critical need for linens situation." Thank you always for your wonderful response to homeless pets in need. Camden County Board of Freeholders is a Market sponsor.
